  5. **Technical Requirements Level 3: 

    1. Memorize the number of sharps or flats in each key:

      1. D Major - 2 sharps - F, C

        1. Temp even.

      2. F Major - 1 flat - B

        1. Wrists up and steady.

      3. B-flat Major - 2 flats - B, E

        1. Start hands alone first. Then do it SLOWLY hands together. 

        2. Fingering will be tricky. So do THIS EVERY DAY.

      4. B Minor - 2 sharps - F, C

      5. D minor - 1 flat - B

      6. G minor - 2 flats - B, E

  6. Hanon No. 1

    1. CLOSE LOUD: m.m. 84 per 8th note
      1. Forward wrist on finger 5 RH.
    2. LEGATO: m.m. 84per quarter note
      1. Wrist up on finger 5 in the RH. 
    3. SPRINTS
      1. play as fast as you can, thinking about wrists up, shoulders down, fingrs close to the keys. Three times
      2. TRY TO KEEP YOUR BEST FORM WHEN YOU DO THIS. RH 2ND FINGER IS COLLAPSED ON THE WAY DOWN.
  7. *Morning Person 

    1. Learn hands together.
    2. Watch the video to check your work. 
    3. First, make sure you can play the notes and don't worry so much about rhythm. 
    4. Once the notes are there, listen to the video and compare your work to learn the rhythm. I play it with the "swing" so it's not exactly how it appears on the page. 
  8. Half Asleep by Christopher Norton

    1. Make sure you do the correct counting between measures 6-7. Do this 3 times correctly each day.
    2. Add pedal to the entire piece!
    3. Don't rush the last beat of each measure. Remember you are floating in the air!!!!
    4. Fix the counting in measures 18-end.
