2017-2018 Lesson 4 of 5

1. Technique: “Hammer-ons” and “Pull-offs”:

- Go to 5th position (finger one on the 5th fret, 2 on 6th, 3 on 7th and 4 on 8th fret. Thumb on the back atvtge middle point of the hand) .

- train hammer-on first from all the combination of fingers and on different strings: 1-2, 2-3, 3-4, 1-3, 1-4, 2-4.

- train pull-off with the same combination, but inverted.

2. “Over the Rainbow”: use your intuition to find different strumming patterns that will suit the different parts in the song. Try making a plan!

3. “Nothing Else Matters”, work slowly and almost bote-by-note on the first 3 “lines” of the tablature. Start in 5th position!

2017-2018 Lesson 3 of 5

1. Technique: try doing the exercise that Hannah does. Right hand thumb goes on the string above that you play and you alternate index and middle finger 4 times. Add left hand fingers gradually up and down. Keep them round and touch the fingertips. Keep a steady rhythm between fingers. You should be able to do this on any string with the thumb flat on the back, on the middle of the hand

2. “Hallelujah” Great job! Practice memory by moving away from the paper. Keep singing along with it as it “forces” you to stay on a rhythm.

3. “Over the rainbow” work on knowing the chord transitions, specially getting to the F chord. And put into the structure. Make it work on a steady rhythm first and then try a different pattern of strumming. Learn the next part and also practice the INTRO.
