1. Warm-up/Technique: No flat fingers! Tip-joint on the fretboars perpendicular. “Like an eye”

2. “lesson 62”, keep practicing and focus on rounding up your fingers. Go slow so you can have all notes sounding evenly  

3. “Torito”: have fun and keep right hand steady o. The arpeggio. Left hand moves as a block.

1. Warm-up/Technique: focus on your round fingers and playing with the fingertip! 

2. “Lesson 62”, use the video if you have problem. Remember that you have 2 other chords only to learn. 

3. Sight reading: ex- 15-18

2018-2019 Lesson 6

1. Warm-up/Technique: make sure to play with your fingertips and have your fingers round. 

2. When playing the songs you already know, practice using your fingers round and play with fingertips! 

3. Lesson 62: work on it slowly, check your thumb flat on the back. make sure to hold fingers down tightly.

 

2018-2019 Lesson 1

1. Warm-up/Technique: make sure you are in a great posture and your fingers are always round. You can play Ode to Joy as part of your warm-up, make sure you focus on the fingers! 

2. “Prelude No. 9”, prepare the next finger. Watch the video from previous lesson to help if needed. Go Slow first, and then challenge yourself with speed! 

3. “Dance of the Islands”, focus on where the problem is. Go slow at it first and make it work! Last circled part needs practice. Finger 3 in the La! 

2017-2018 Lesson 14

1. Technique: tip joint needs to be like a nail against a wall! Think about it and practice this way. No need for speed.

2. Work on the last part of “Dance of the Islands”.

1. Technique: keep your fingers close to the fretboard. Try and not move the hand, only the fingers.

3. Keep playing “Ode to Joy” and “Lightly Row”.

4. “Dance of the Islands”, work on the last part. Pay attention to FINGERS!

1. Technique: keep your fingers close to the fretboard. Try and not move the hand, only the fingers. 

2. Sight reading (Red book): REVIEW exercises 3, 4, 5 and 6. Pick one a day!

3. Keep playing “Ode to Joy” and “Lightly Row”.

1. Warm-up/Technique: pay attention to your posture first and then to your fingers round and fingertips close to next fret!

2. Sight- Reading: Exercises 10, 11 and 12. Notes on the second string

3. Keep playing “Lightly Row” and “Ode to Joy” !

4. Learn and practice first and second phrase of “Dance of the Islands”. If it gets easy and good, move on to 3rd phrase. (Video on lesson 7)

Don’t mute the bass note, let it ring!  play one note per beat. GO SLOW to avoid frustration, but if you insist on playing fast, try to accept mistakes as part of the learning process.
