2017-2018 Lesson 31

1. Technique: if playing 2 low strings, use your “p” finger, if playing two high strings, use “I” and “m”.

2. Practicing the chords: be able to learn each chord and practice exercise 1: play, shift, shift, shift... 

when you get good at exercise 1, try Ex. 2! Play, HOLD, shift, shift...

3. “First Exercise on the E string”, no gaps! Use the music to check notes on the green part of needed.

2017-2018 Lesson 28

Practice for Performance Class this Sunday!

1. “Happy Birthday”. You can always play each part 3 times good and then play the whole song after. 

2. “Simple dialogue”. Practice the big parts, A, B and A2. Make sure notes/rhythm/fingers are great! Play from beginning to end at least 3 times! 

3. “First Exercise on the E string”, use videos to help you with the green part. Practice and remember blue and red parts

2017-2018 Lesson 27

1. Warm-up/Technique: Play “I” and “m” on adjacent strings. Play 4 Times, add finger 1 on the bottom string, play 4 Times. Add fingers 2, then 3 and 4. Move up position twice and then back.

2. “First exercise on the E string” , use the videos for the parts if necessary, if not, use the music. Practice, practice and practice even if it’s notes by notes. Rhythm by rhythm. Finger by finger.

3. Keep playing “A Simple Dialogue”

Let’s aim for at least 2 practices this week and if not 3!

1. Warm-up/Technique: Pick ANY 2 strings to do your warm-up.

2. Sight reading: Exercises 29 and 30.

3. Repertoire: “A Simple Dialogue”, keep the rhythm steady. Practice so there is no Gap between the notes. Go slow first.

”First Exercise on the E String”. Use your fingers in the best way. Blue and red part.

1. Warm-up/Technique: Pick ANY 2 strings to do your warm-up.

2. Sight reading: Exercises 24 and 25. New string! Notes Sol and La are now included.

3. Repertoire: “A Simple Dialogue”. Play the whole song and practice the part that you had most trouble with.

2017-2018 Lesson 17

1. Warm-up/Technique: Pick ANY 2 strings to do your warm-up.

2. “A Simple Dialogue”. Focus on the 3 big parts! A, B and A2. Practice 2 times at least before Sunday. Play each part good 3 times! 

 

If you have less time to practice, play the whole song 3 times and try better everything you play it!

2017-2018 Lesson 16

2. Sight reading: Exercises 23 and 24. New string! Notes Sol and La are now included.

3. Repertoire: “A Simple Dialogue”. Practice the A, B part by breaking it up in small ones (color phrases). Make sure to play 3 Times good! Go slow so you learn fast! Practice part A2. At the end, play the whole song!

1. Warm-up/Technique: Pick ANY 2 strings to do your warm-up. Keep your thumb on one place!

2. Sight reading: Exercises 21 and 22.

3. Repertoire: “A Simple Dialogue”. Practice the A, B part by breaking it up in small ones (color phrases). Make sure to play 3 Times good! Go slow so you learn fast!

2017-2018 Lesson 13 - Jan. 8th

1. Warm-up and pay attention to your technique by picking 2 strings and alternate them right fingers and left finger, 4 Times each. 

2. Sight reading exercise: pick two exercises from pages 3 and 4 and practice them. I’ll ask you to play them next week.

3. Repertoire: NEW SONG: “A Simple Dialogue”, practice and learn the two circules parts.

2017-2018 - Lesson 4 - Matteo

1. Warm-up/Technique: Pick TWO string and play it four times alternating strings and index and middle finger on the right hand. Place finger 1 round and with fingertips and play four times. Repeat for fingers 2, 3 and 4 and "walk" back fingers 3, 2, 1 and finish on the open string.

2. Repertoire. "Prelude No. 9". Practice the music in two parts, first and second line and then third and forth line. At the end of your practice try to play the whole song. Fix the mistakes by making sure you can play smoothly and on a steady rhythm. Pay attention to your round fingers! Use the music to read the comments. "Torito" - Let's do the exercise for the Right Hand before we go into the notes of the song. On the first 3 strings, practice the arpeggio of "p", "i", "m" and "i" slowly (at first) and as steady as you can. Try and play it a few times without stopping.
