LESSON ASSIGNMENTS

recital 💚Linus & Lucy (April 27 Recital)

  1. Page 4 and first three measures of page 5: close-loud twice a day, then three medium tempo markings 80, 88, 96, 104 = quarter note.

This jazzy classic is best known from A Charlie Brown Christmas. Vince Guaraldi created a whole vibe with just a few chords — bouncy, cheerful, and instantly recognizable from the first few measures.

recital 💚Beethoven Für Elise

  1. Measures 19-33: close-loud twice a day, then three medium tempo markings 72 80 and 88 = 8th note, 80

  2. More draaaama in dynamics.

  3. See all yellow highlights - need to be fixed by next lesson.

Beethoven probably didn’t mean for this piece to become his greatest hit — but “Für Elise” is now one of the most recognized piano pieces in the world. This piece was composed in 1810, but it was not discovered and published until forty years after his death.
