1. Sight-reading

   1. NEVER start over in the middle of the exercise.

   2. Don’t play faster than m.m. 32 per quarter note. You can turn the metronome on to hear the beat then turn it off.

   3. Look at the rhythm and do it abstractly in your head. NOT fast.

   4. Then look at the intervals, key signature, etc.

   5. If you make a mistake, CONTINUE and pretend it didn’t happen. 😎

2. Intervals:

1. Complete Unit 5 pages 2 with Dustin

1. Please see the markings in Newzik. The goal will be to get rid of all markings by doing them correctly at the next lesson.

1. Keep the first section very soft, especialy the LH.

2. Measures 13-14 - Remember: very short when it’s staccato, and do the “more-less” dynamics with the two-note slurs.

3. Measures 15-16 - extreme contrast (soft)

1. Keep the same tempo (very slow) with a focus of extreme expression!

2. Get rid of any pauses for next lesson. If you find a spot with a pause, zoom in and do the appropriate practice for that section.

1. In measure 5: don’t make the LH note E staccato.

2. Careful note to rush the tempo in the last three measures.
