💚FOUR STAR Level 2

  1. Sight-reading

    1. NEVER start over in the middle of the exercise.

    2. Don’t play faster than m.m. 32 per quarter note. You can turn the metronome on to hear the beat then turn it off.

    3. Look at the rhythm and do it abstractly in your head. NOT fast.

    4. Then look at the intervals, key signature, etc.

    5. If you make a mistake, CONTINUE and pretend it didn’t happen. 😎

🎹💚Etude in G Major, op. 166, no. 6 by Henri Bertini (1798-1876) (L. 2, Etude)

  1. Pedal: don’t change your pedal until slightly after you have played the note.

  2. Block the last system every day, then play as written.

  3. Gradually speed-build, two-four measures at a time.

  4. Keep your sound soft - especially the RH.

  1. All 8th notes: beware of rhythm monster!👹 See the blue circles.

  2. Practice starting from 3 different places each practice session.
