How to Practice
Use the Practice Guide below. It writes your practice down for you, no comments needed.
Tap the first assignment on your list.
The timer starts by itself. Read it and practice.
When you are finished, press Done. It saves your time and opens the next one.
Need to stop for a minute? Press Pause.
Lost? Press My Assignment List at the top to go back.
Log only what you actually did, on the day you did it. Five minutes is a real entry.
Some assignments finish. Those carry a Done for the Week button. Press it when the job is done and the assignment comes off your list.
Need the metronome, a recorder or the Section-Work colors? They are in Practice Tools. Tap one and it opens inside your assignment. Tap Close to put it away.
Official tracking started Monday, October 19.

[PRACTICE TOOLS]
Theory
1. 🟩 Celebrate Theory, Level 1, Unit 5 (RCM), pages 50 to 53
THIS WEEK: Pages 50 to 53. Be ready to teach me the major scale pattern.
52 and 53 are the new ones. 50 and 51 were already on your list.
Whole, whole, half, whole, whole, whole, half. Learn it so you can say it.
Put that pattern on any starting note and you get a major scale.
Tonic is the first note of the scale. Dominant is the fifth.
Musicianship
2. 🟩 Basic Rhythmic Training (Starer), Nos. 66 and 68
THIS WEEK: No. 66, then No. 68.
We skipped 64. You are good to go there.
These two use ties and syncopation, so they are harder.
Syncopation is an accent on a weak beat.
Reading
3. 🟩 Piano Adventures Sightreading, Primer, pages 46 to 51
THIS WEEK: Pages 46 to 51, spread through the week.
You finished through page 43.
These start using more than one note at a time.
Play the repeat without stopping. Use it to fix the spot you just missed.
You have a strong sound. Try some softer playing in these too.
Repertoire
4. 🟩 Giraffe (Richert)
THIS WEEK: Fix the pedal, clear out the pauses, and perform it by memory for me next lesson.
Heel stays on the floor when you change the pedal. Toes only.
A pause is any stop or hesitation between notes.
To fix one: start a measure before, play to a measure after, three times correctly.
You have it memorized, so next lesson is the pass off.
5. 🟩 Love Is in the Air, part one
THIS WEEK: Download the arrangement and send it to me.
The one you found online. Download it and send it over.
There are a couple of things I want to change before you start learning it.
