💚The Juggler by Nancy and Randall Faber (Prep, A)

  1. Using NFPER, learn measures 3-4 in the following order:

    1. NOTES: Say the letter names and direction of the notes out loud correctly.

    2. FINGERING: Say and play the finger numbers and note names (this step was difficult today but better on the second try)

    3. POSITION: Focus on correct position three times correctly.

    4. EXPRESSION: Focus on the slur (smooth and connected). Lift your wrist at the end of the slur.

    5. RHYTHM: Set the metronome to 52 → count four beats before you start → play with the metronome!

  2. Play measures 1-4 with NFP & E as a focus (you don’t need to keep a steady beat. Just play slowly (slower than m.m. 60)

  3. Measures 5, 6, and 7 are exactly the same as measures 1, 2 and 3!

  4. Measure 8: Hold the left hand C (dotted half note) while the right hand plays staccato! Remember to bounce off the keyboard

  5. Practice measures 1-8 together!

💜Musical Alphabet: Forward and backward by skips / 3rds

  1. You passed off A to A by skips! Yay 😀

  2. Now practice speaking letter names forward and backward from ANY letter name. (B, C, D, E, F & G)

  3. Play a game with this! Stepping to a beat and speaking the letter names from one end of the room to the other.

💜RHYTHM: Basic Rhyhmic Training

  1. Much better today!

  2. Please prepare number 5, 6, and 7

  3. Keep the “ta” held for the full duration of the rhythm. Hold the ta until the rest and say “rest” when you arrive!

💜THEORY: Unit 5: Rhythm

  1. Prepare pages 42-46

  2. Try to connect the idea of speaking the letter names forward and backward by skips and finding notes on the staff by skips (lines and spaces)

    1. Pressing the media button, select “Deep Blue Sea Your Part.” Practice with this until you can play with it exactly as it sounds.

      1. It might not be correct after three tries so just do three in one day and be ok with that - try again the next day.

      2. Remember to keep going if you make a mistake.

    2. Once the above is correct, select the “Deep Blue Sea Accompaniment.”

      1. Do the same as above.
