1. Please prepare pages 2-6 (one “day” per practice session).

💚Musical Alphabet: Forward and backward by skips / 3rds

1. Practice speaking letter names forward and backward now with a steady beat. Metronome marking 60 per letter name is a good tempo (A, B, C, D, E, F & G)

💜RHYTHM: Basic Rhyhmic Training

1. Please prepare number 7 and wil hold

2. If you make a mistake in the middle of the exercise, try to practice moving forward with a steady beat - keep your eyes moving forward in the music. This helps train us to recover well from mistakes in performance. However, if you make the same mistake more than twice, that’s when you can stop and isolate that area to fix it. Remember this type of practice is called “spotting.”

3. Keep the “ta” held for the full duration of the rhythm. Hold the ta until the rest and say “rest” when you arrive!

💜THEORY: Unit 5: Rhythm

1. Prepare pages 48 and 49 and memorize all the material for a quiz.

1. Review with your music and round fingers / relaxed wrist, once a day!

⚫️Sleigh Bells by Christine Donkin (Prep A)

1. Pause

NOTES: Say the letter names and direction of the notes out loud correctly.

1. FINGERING: Say and play the finger numbers (this step was difficult today but better on the second try)

2. POSITION: Focus on good position three times correctly. Keep eyes on the music.

3. EXPRESSION: Focus on the slur (smooth and connected). Lift your wrist at the end of the slur.

4. RHYTHM: Set the metronome to 52 → count four beats before you start → play with the metronome!

1. Page 1: Deep Blue Sea

   1. Pressing the media button, select “Deep Blue Sea Your Part.” Practice with this until you can play with it exactly as it sounds.

      1. It might not be correct after three tries so just do three in one day and be ok with that - try again the next day.

      2. Remember to keep going if you make a mistake.

   2. Once the above is correct, select the “Deep Blue Sea Accompaniment.”

      1. Do the same as above.
