đź’šA Skating Waltz

  1. Skating Waltz Screen Game Meausres 1-8

    1. Set your metronome to 60 (quarter note = 60).

    2. Play the Skating Waltz while keeping exactly with the metronome.

    3. Do not stop for mistakes. If you miss a note, let it go and keep moving with the beat. The goal is to stay with the metronome, not to play perfectly.

    4. Play the piece three times in a row.

    By the third time, you should start noticing that you recover from mistakes more quickly and are able to look ahead in the music.

    After the third time, you’re done!

  2. 🎥Measures 9-12 and 13 to the end:

    1. Look at the music, say the name of the note, then the finger, then play.

    2. Do this three times each practice sesson.

    3. Careful to tuck under the thumb instead of twisting the arm between mm. 10-11

  3. Careful of measures 4 and 8 - the right hand stays the same (F/G)

  4. đź’›Use the NFPER method to learn hands alone, measures 9-12 (do 13-16 if you have time).

    1. REMEMBER TO REPEAT EACH STEP CORRECTLY THREE TIMES.

❤️Musical Alphabet: Forward and backward

  1. This needs more work in order to pass with a steady pulse.

  2. Practice speaking the letter names forward and backward by 2nds (steps) and 3rds (skips).

  3. Please practice this with m.m. 66. If you have a pause, try to move forward instead of starting over.

  2. Prepare pages 61-67

đź’šEar Training (up or down, 2nds)

  1. Practice having Kavi play up or down a second (C to D or D to C for example) without Aria looking at the keyboard. Guess if the direction is up or down.

    1. First thing we do is study the rhythm.

    2. Then study the notes.

  1. This is sounding so much better! Now let’s try to start practicing with the metronome 60 per quarter note. It’s ok if you can’t do this all in one chunk. Before each try, count four beats before you begin with the metronome.

  1. Page 1: Deep Blue Sea

    1. Pressing the media button, select “Deep Blue Sea Your Part.” Practice with this until you can play with it exactly as it sounds.

      1. It might not be correct after three tries so just do three in one day and be ok with that - try again the next day.

      2. Remember to keep going if you make a mistake.

    2. Once the above is correct, select the “Deep Blue Sea Accompaniment.”

      1. Do the same as above.
