    2. Hands alone first, ensuring that fingers are round and wrist is not below the white keys.

    1. In Newzik, access the Theory 01 PDF.

    2. Complete Unit 8. If this is extremely easy for you, discontinue the unit and move on to the Level 2 PDF.

    3. If level 2 is also too easy, move on to Level 3, Level 4, etc.

Repertoire

  1. NFRPE Five Basic Practice Tactics

    1. Access the PDF in Newzik called “Charts & Guides”

    2. In the menu dropdown (upper center of the page), select “NFRPE Five Basic Practice Tactics.”

    3. Study the information to be applied to learning your repertoire pieces.

  2. Bach, Invention No. 5 in E-flat Major, HWV 776

    1. Identify each “subject” entry in each voice (two voices in each Invention).

    2. Observe the key signature, time signature

  3. Chopin, Waltz in A Minor op. Posth., B 150

    1. Using the NFRPE method, choose a “chunk” (no more than 2-4 measures.

    2. Learn the notes and fingering according to each highlighted voice (green = melody, purple = harmony, yellow = bass).

    3. Once you have learned them independendly, start to combine the voices in all combinations. Yellow + green, yellow + purple, green + purple, etc.
