Plan your practice time the night before (or for the week). Make a comment in your blog each night before you go to bed indicating your practice window for the next day.

🟩Rameau Gavotte & Six Doubles

1. 6th dbl: practice LH alone gracefully determined with the correctly pedaling.

2. 6th dbl: RH alone practice keeping wrist in-motion the whole time.

3. 6th dbl: practice transition between 8-9 with the expressive focus of change.

4. 5th dbl: “continue to learn” so do blocking, sprints, slow practice. Make sure at least 70% of your practice is slow to medium tempo practice.

5. 4th dbl: clean pedaling for the downbeats of m. 1 and 4.

6. 4th dbl: slow practice with the repetitive chord section. Also think about direction of phrase so it doesn’t sound like you’re getting stuck.

7. 3rd dbl: slow-mo practice with a focus on inner texture being smooth. mm. 19-20 bring out a detached texture.

8. 3rd dbl: Build the tempo to final.

9. 2nd dbl: emphasize the different moods. Start softer. Work on textural shifts.

10. 2nd dbl: Ending - make the return of the first texture more apparent. Breathe before starting 3rd dbl.

11. 1st dbl: sub. piano in m. 24. Then start the 2nd dbl right in time.

12. Gavotte: mm. 14-15 bring out LH voice. Treat as slowest part of phrase.
