🟩Ravel, Jeux d’Eau

1. m. 18 - brush LH repeated notes

2. m. 18 - glissando = one whooshing texture

3. mm. 19-20:

   1. RH close-loud

   2. RH triple hits (actively adjust to an optimal position for technical ease)

   3. Voicings: Rotate through voicing (cantabile) 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1 and play as written

   4. Then as written with pp and wrist focus.

   5. LH brushing inward each octave

4. m. 26:

   1. RH finger 2 + 3 trill alone

   2. 5-3 +2 trem.

   3. 1-2 + 3 trem (focus on wrist rotation)

   4. Sprints in 2, 3, 4, etc.

   5. Then trem. sprint until it becomes unstable, then pause, relax and repeat.

5. mm. 27-28: LH Spock-Tech (smack the keys with flatter hand, combining fingers 3-2. Left elbow raised slightly to the side. Flatten RH, and get it out of the way.

🟪Rameau Gavotte & Six Doubles

1. 6th dbl: Careful not to let the bass overpower the RH texture. Start with more sense of urgency but quiet.

2. 5th dbl: Identify the melody within the texture of the RH - illuminate it! Keep the flanking notes softer.

3. 4th dbl: Be more aware of the harmonic structure / sequences that guide the phrasing. Ms. 1-8 feel a little stuck in terms of flow.

4. 3rd dbl: Start with a bit more strength. Carry the energy from double 2 into dbl 3. Detach the 16th in the last measure.

5. 2nd dbl: Voice the RH chords much more. m. 16 - detached? Careful of too much pedal in LH here.

6. 1st dbl: space the two LH notes of the last measure. m. 9 - don’t slow down - keep momentum.

7. Gavotte: Ornaments more in the Baroque style (tighter and in-time). Ending phrase: wait to resolve. Hold the last chord slightly longer in the pedal.
