1. Level 9 (try one: 11/18/2020)

   1. For octave scales - play finger 4 on black keys. In-motion attacks. Don‘T keep your position open all the time. See if you can activate your closed position as you go through the exercise.

   2. Have all technique prepared next time for a test.

   3. Scales need to be more legato - not close loud technique!

READING

1. Sightreading: 5-10 min a day

   3. Look at the bass first. Why do we do this? It outlines the harmony. We also read intervals from the bass.

   4. CONFIDENCE! Play each note with confidence, even if you know there’s going to be a mistake.

            7. After second statement of the basic idea, take a bigger breath on the 8th rest getting ready for the longer phrase.

Semi-Final Round: Up to 20 minutes

3. One or more pieces at the participant's discretion
