TECHNIQUE

  1. HANON NO. 1

    1. E MAJOR: HANDS TOGETHER - 2 Octaves (moving through circle of 5ths)

      1. m.m. 104, two notes per tic, Legato (no bouncy wrist)

      2. Keep an eye out for fingers 4 and 5. Don’t let them come off the keys too much.

      3. EVEN SOUND (sand wrists)

      4. FINGERS CLOSE TO THE KEYS.

    2. SMOOTH WRISTS

  2. CHORDS - hands alone, one octave

    1. C-sharp Major

      1. Blocked and broken

      2. All inversions.

      3. Be careful of over-rotating

      4. LH finger 2 on 2nd inversion.

  3. SCALES - two octaves, hands together (next week

    1. C-sharp Major / D-flat Major (enharmonic keys)

      1. METRONOME 100, one and two notes per tic.

      1. SMOOTH WRISTS (think of sand wrists)
