Sight-reading preparation method:
Study the rhythm in your mind - actually play the rhythm in your mind as an abstract exercise (think about clap-back exercises). What is the time signature? What is the shortest note-value?
Notes and fingering. Look at the key signature. Observe intervals - the distance between the notes.
Choose a slow tempo and start to play with a steady beat - don’t stop once you start. Move forward if you make mistakes.
