  1. Minimum 5 practice days a week.

  2. We spent 10 min on two scales.

    1. Do these hands alone first.

      1. Notes & Fingering 3 times in-a-row correctly, forgetting about keeping a steady beat. Don’t go on to the next note until you KNOW that it’s going to be correct.

      2. Then do the same thing hands together.

      3. Only then should you move on to playing these with a steady beat.

  2. Sight-reading preparation method:

    1. Study the rhythm in your mind - actually play the rhythm in your mind as an abstract exercise (think about clap-back exercises). What is the time signature? What is the shortest note-value?

    2. Notes and fingering. Look at the key signature. Observe intervals - the distance between the notes.

    3. Choose a slow tempo and start to play with a steady beat - don’t stop once you start. Move forward if you make mistakes.
