How to Practice
Use the Practice Guide below. It writes your practice down for you, no comments needed.
Tap the first assignment on your list.
The timer starts by itself. Read it and practice.
When you are finished, press Done. It saves your time and opens the next one.
Need to stop for a minute? Press Pause.
Lost? Press My Assignment List at the top to go back.
Try for five days a week. Fifteen minutes is plenty.
Everything on your list is fair game for a test at your next lesson. Be ready to tell me about a page without looking at it.
Some assignments finish. Those carry a Done for the Week button. Press it when the job is done and the assignment comes off your list.
Need the metronome, a recorder or the Section-Work colors? They are in Practice Tools. Tap one and it opens inside your assignment. Tap Close to put it away.
Official tracking started Monday, October 19.

[PRACTICE TOOLS]
Two Piano Rules
Always sit in the middle. Piano seatbelt.
Low wrist first, then play. Never flat fingers.
Start Here
1. 🟩 Sitting Position
THIS WEEK: Fix your bench height before you play. Every time.
🎥 How to adjust your bench https://youtube.com/shorts/BqJO9jAbdZ8
Twist the bench up until your elbow is not below your hand.
Hands on the keys, then check your elbows. Not below your hands.
Put a box or a footstool under your feet if you have one.
Musicianship
2. 🟩 Who Was Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart? (McDonough), chapter 5
THIS WEEK: Read chapter 5.
Chapter 5 is Family Man.
One chapter left after this one.
Lesson 3
3. 🟨 GPM Technique, Lesson 3, pages 4 to 5
THIS WEEK: Pop-wrist. Tap the key, then pop the wrist while your finger is still on it.
🎥 Pop-Wrist https://youtu.be/jSOinUL_u00
Tap down, then the wrist pops up. Fingers stay loose.
Do not slide or scrape down the key. That is the one thing to watch.
Think about jumping onto a springboard. You cannot scrape your feet on the way.
Keep the knuckle round, not bent inward.
This one takes longer than a week. Your mom is learning it too.
4. 🟨 GPM Sight Playing, Lesson 3, page 35
THIS WEEK: Page 35.
Landmark Lines: Finger 3.
Look more closely before you play. You played the left hand line by accident.
5. 🟨 GPM Sight Playing, Lesson 3, page 36
THIS WEEK: Page 36.

Middle C, finger 2, forward wrist.
Check which clef you are in before you decide which note it is.
