  1. 💚Rhyme Time (L. 2, B)

    1. Start with Dustin next week or you can start learning hands alone.

  2. 💚Royal Conservatory of Music Technical Tests: Level 1

    1. Assignment:

      1. (These were so much better this week!)

      2. G Major, hands alone

      3. E Natural minor, hands alone

      4. E harmonic minor, hands alone

    2. Method:

      1. Set metronome to 69 per quarter note.

      2. Before you start playing, count out loud: “1 & 2 & 3 & 4 &” and then begin.

      3. Don’t let the RH wrist drop below the white keys.

      4. RH finger two needs to be curved.

  3. 💜Hanon: The Virtuoso Pianist No. 3

    1. Assignment:

      1. Fingers never leaving the surface of the keys.

      2. Close-loud (high-loud next week)

    2. Method:

      1. Strong attack on each note, then immediately relax.

      2. Pop the wrist up slightly on each attack.

      3. Don’t slide on the keys.

      4. One time through each day.

    1. Assignment:

      1. Complete Sets 6 and 7

      2. Remember to play NO FASTER THAN M.M. 60 per quarter note for the sight-reading

    1. In unit 6, we discussed odd number intervals appear on the staff as line to line or space to space. Even number intervals are always line to space or space to line.

    1. Fix all the pencil in your music.

    2. Start learning hands together (AFTER YOU FIX THE PENCIL MARKINGS), one to two measures at a time, three times correctly each.

    3. Please do this again, 1-2 measures at a time, SLOW SLOW SLOW SLOW enough that all notes are correct and expression is correct (staccato and slurs)

      1. No faster than m.m. 112 (please purchase a metronome)

      2. Think very carefully before you being.

      3. The goal is to play it correctly on your first try from any measure.

    1. Assignment:

      1. Set metronome before you begin, then turn it off and play through with a focus on expression.

      2. Hold the notes for their full value even though your pedal is down.

      3. Gradually come off the keys and pedal at the same time to match the mood of the piece (ending).

    2. Method:

      1. Turn on the metronome to 88 per quarter note.

      2. Play through with the metronome.

      3. turn the metronome off and play through again.
