ASSIGNMENTS

  1. 💚Italian Song by Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky

    1. See the video for measures 41-44 (texted to the thread)

    2. Please learn hands alone mm. 28-32

    3. See the video for measure 30 (texted to your thread)

    4. See the video for measures 47-49 (texted to your thread)

    5. HANDS TOGETHER:

      1. ONE MEASURE AT A TIME, GOING TO THE DOWNBEAT OF THE NEXT MEASURE.

      2. First, review hands alone with exaggerate wrist movements and articulations (staccato, legato)

      3. Then hands together VERY SLOWLY with no thought for keeping a steady beat. The priority is EVERYTHING else, and no steady rhythm. Add this last after you know all the Fingering, Expression, Notes, and Position are good.

      4. You can wait for 5 seconds per note if needed!

  2. ❤️❤️Celebrate Theory: Level 2 Unit 1

    1. Complete the entire unit and we’ll check it at your next lesson.

  3. 💜Basic Rhythmic Training

    1. Prepare nos. 14-18

      1. Conducting arm should be more like a “chop” and don’t go too far to the right for beat two.

      2. Remember to conduct one measure of silence.

      3. Study the rhythm first, then go through without stopping - work through your mistakes. Fix them after you finish.

      4. Hold the sound of the “ta” for the full value of the note.

  4. 💜Sight Reading Piano Adventures: 2A

    1. Sight-read two “days” per practice session.

    2. Study the rhythm first (time signature and rhythm of the notes)

    3. Study the notes (key signature, intervals, etc.)

    4. Set a slow pace and don’t stop to correct mistakes.

  5. Gavotte French suite no. 5 in G Major by J. S. Bach

  6. Allegro in G Major by Franz Joseph Haydn

  7. Prelude in G Major by George Friederic Handel
