    1. Technical Requirements Level 1

      1. SCALES - see metronome markings in your book

        1. DO THE FOLLOWING EXERCISES WITH AND WITHOUT THE BOOK

        2. FOR EACH SCALE: SAY OUT LOUD AND ASK YOURSELF THE FOLLOWING:

          1. What is the key signature and are there any extra sharps or flats?

          2. Where is finger 4?

          3. Then when you’re ready, count 4 steady beats in your mind before you start.

      2. CHORDS - see metronome markings in your book.

        1. FOR EACH SOLID/BLOCKED CHORD:

          1. Do both hands, correctly three times each.

    1. PREPARE: Move on from Set 3

      1. Do two to three days per practice session.

        1. Work on the loudness of your claps. Keep your palms together in “bird clap” form.

      2. Sightreading Portion:

        1. Ask yourself what is the key signature

        2. Study the rhythm.

        3. Study the notes (and the distance between them)

  2. Sightreading Level 2A - NO ASSIGNMENT THIS WEEK.

    1. m.m. 40 - 60 no faster than this

    2. BE PICKY with NFRPE. It might take you up to 10 times to get everything! That’s OK. Because if you’re picky, you’ll get better faster!
