HANON No. 3 in C Major
Close Loud: Set metronome to 63 per 16th note (this should feel like an exercise!)
Staccato: Set metronome to 96 per 8th note (fingers down and relaxed.) Remember to attack from ABOVE the key
Legato: Set metronome to 72 per quarter note. Focus on position. Also, no accents. Think about how legato you can be with the sound and touch.
Speed Build: work up to m.m. 92 per quarter note.

Close Loud
With each note, keep your fingers close to the keyboard and pop your wrist up to help release the tension created when you hit the key with force!
Rhythms (Long, short, short, Long, short, short. etc.)
The long notes are strong like “close loud,” and the short notes are light and played as quickly as possible, THINKING about going to the next long note.
Accent Practice
Accent one note in a group and practice alternating the note that receives the accent.
