1. Read through first two measures out loud and play.

2. Chords- read one note at a time from bottom to top, review fingering bottom to top.

Note Speed:
1. Level 4 And 5
  1. Lay out 7 cards
  2. Glance at them once
  3. Set a timer (7 secs for treble, 12 secs for bass)
  4. Repeat until done with no mistakes in time
  5. If first three tries are not in time, add 2 seconds.
Terms
1. Leger lines float above and below the staff.
2. Bass clef is also called F clef = line four becomes F
3. Treble clef is also called G clef - line two becomes G

Hi Ilan!

Thanks for sending the video and for learning the section. Please remember that the MOST important thing right now is that you follow the instructions in your blog carefully.

The first few lessons are a learning process for both of us, so it is imperative that you read and follow the blog instructions so I can learn quickly, as your teacher, what method works best for you.

This week, you learned the designated measures (yay!), but did not learn them in the way we discussed (details are outlined in the “INSTRUCTIONS” section below).

So hang tight with me for the first few lessons as we get into a rhythm of what will and won’t work. I am very flexible in regards to making a tailored lesson plan for you, however, once we decide on a plan, I am not flexible until that plan has been completed - then I’m happy to discuss and reevaluate. 😎

So let’s communicate as much as possible, and at the same time, double and triple check the instructions in your blog, every day - even if you think you’ve memorized the instructions.

  1. INSTRUCTIONS:
    1. Sign up for an account in the app Newzik to be used between you, Daniel and Victoria.
    2. You’ll need an email and create a password that all of you can share.
    3. The plans are weekly, monthly or lifetime. Discuss with your mom and choose what you wish.
    4. You’re creating your own account because your iPads don’t have enough space to handle all the data using my account login.
    5. Let me know once you’ve done this by making a comment in the comment section below, or, send me a text.
2. GOAL: Record three separate videos or audio of mm. (Measures) 27-37 of Hymn for the left hand, right hand, and hands together.
  1. INSTRUCTIONS:
    1. Go to “Newzik” to access your PDF Of Hymn
    2. Identify the section in your PDF (music)
    3. Study the video for the LH and practice with the correct notes, fingering and hand position until you’re satisfied.
    4. Do the same thing above for the RH video and HT video.
    5. Record three separate videos or audio of each section and upload the video to the PDF or text me.
    6. Let em know when you’ve uploaded the assignment by letting me know in the “comment” section below.
