D major scale first 4 notes on the 4th string. Start with all four fingers down in second position (fingers should be on the 2,3,4,5 frets) lift fingers as you go down towards the open string. Try to get LH fingers as close to the frets as possible. Practice playing up the scale from open D to A on the first string anticipating string crossings.

Memorize chord shapes E7, A7, and B7 for 12 bar blues. Be able to play one strum per measure without looking at music. Memorize the progression. Practice playing smoothly without hesitation.
