Lesson taught July 22nd by Koh Kazama
- Prelude No. 9 - p finger is fixed. Next step is to work on keeping a consistent tempo and not pausing between chord changes. Use a metronome and prepare your left hand fingers in advance before the chord changes.
- Exercise 13 - focus on only the first line and a half of the piece. Watch out for the p finger (make sure it stays near the 5th string and does not plant on the third string). Practice with a metronome at eighth note=60. Remember that Re note should be played with the fourth finger. Practice in small sections (1-1.5 measures at a time).
- Work on perfecting the first half of the sight reading exercise no. 15. Practice the top line separately first, making sure that the right hand fingers always alternate.
- Flash cards - say and play the note. Today's record was 1min 30sec. Next week's goal is under a minute.
