1. Remember to pop the wrist forward on each of the staccato notes.

2. Dynamics need work.

3. Practice with m.m. 100

💚Czerny, Op 825 No. 1: Complete Etude

1. Position: focus on round fingers and bubble.

2. This is also too fast - please play no faster than m.m. 100 per half note (two ticks per note)

💚A Skating Waltz (RCM, Prep. A)

1. Practice starting from 3 random (different) measures each day.

2. Practice once through, with music, at m.m. 76 (with the metronome).

3. Close music. Practice bow. Hands in lap thinking of the first two measures. Then play at final tempo. m.m. 112 (set the metronome for reference then turn it off and play through).

💚The Juggler by Nancy and Randall Faber (RCM, Prep. A)

1. Practice starting from 3 random measures each day.

2. Practice once through, with music, at m.m. 92

3. Close music. Practice bow. Hands in lap thinking of the first two measures. Then play at final tempo. m.m. 126 (set the metronome for reference then turn it off and play through).

4. “The Juggler feels very fast and fun. Look out for the part where I cross over my hand a bunch of times! This is like a juggler balancing the balls.”

💜FLASH CARDS

1. These need a bit more work. Try to build speed with the current cards before we go to the lower neighbor.

2. Use the landmark and “upper neighbor” flash cards found in the front of the “Piano Staff Notes Flashcards” blue box.

1. This needs more work in order to pass with a steady pulse.

2. Practice speaking the letter names forward and backward by 2nds (steps) and 3rds (skips).

3. Please practice this with m.m. 66. If you have a pause, try to move forward instead of starting over.

1. Print Unit 7 or Complete the Unit in Newzik.

2. Prepare pages 61-63 and be able to tell me about ANY bold words

1. Page 1: Deep Blue Sea

   1. Pressing the media button, select “Deep Blue Sea Your Part.” Practice with this until you can play with it exactly as it sounds.

      1. It might not be correct after three tries so just do three in one day and be ok with that - try again the next day.

      2. Remember to keep going if you make a mistake.

   2. Once the above is correct, select the “Deep Blue Sea Accompaniment.”

      1. Do the same as above.
