  1. đź’šHanon: The Virtuoso Pianist No. 2

    1. LEARN THE PATTERN:

      1. Start by practicing the transition and learning the notes and fingering correctly.

      2. I will ask you to start from any measure next time.

    2. CLOSE LOUD: 2 minute hands together every day.

      1. Pop your wrist up on EACH attack

    3. HIGH LOUD: 2 minute hands together, every day.

      1. Wrists need to be above the white.

      2. Between each movement, make sure every finger is relaxed on the white keys before you move on.

    4. LEGATO: 3-5 minutes, hands together, every day.

      1. ❤️REMEMBER: fingers never leave the keys. Wrists follow the contour of the notes (wrist goes up if the notes go up, etc.). Fingers round and curved.

        1. Practice with m.m. 52 - two notes per tic

  1. đź’šFour Star: Sight-reading & Ear Tests

    1. For the “Star 2” items, clap one measure of the beat before you continue clapping and ta the rhythm at the same time. Ta with your voice, the full value of each note. Clap on the final bar line.

    2. For the “Star 3” items, see your sticky note! Remember to play slowly. once you play through, stop and fix any mistakes in your head and try again until it’s correct.

    1. GO TO NEWZIK AND FIND THE “STAFF PAPER BLANK” pdf. Print it out or use it inside Newzik.

    2. On a staff paper, draw the following:

      1. F Major Scale in the treble clef, ascending and descending, three times.

      2. F Major Scale in the bass clef, ascending and descending, three times.

      3. G Major Scale in the treble clef, ascending and descending, three times.

      4. G Major Scale in the bass clef, ascending and descending, three times.

      5. Write T for tonic and D for dominant under each appropriate note.

      1. Four measures at a time.

      3. COUNT BEFORE YOU BEGIN. No faster than m.m. 69 per quarter note

      4. LH alone first, focusing ONLY on Notes and Fingering. 3 times in-a-row correctly. DON’T PLAY FAST! GO AS SLOW AS YOU NEED TO PLAY 100% CORRECT NOTES AND FINGERING because that’s your only goal

    1. When you arrive at measures 9-10, 13-14 and 16, you MUST COUNT OUT LOUD OR IN YOUR HEAD, every time you play this piece this week.
